Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. in Lake Panasoffkee, FL, is seeking a Jr. Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on machinery. Located directly off Interstate 75, the facility is just 20 miles from The Villages, 30 miles south of Ocala, and 40 miles north of Wesley Chapel.
In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment and machinery. This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package, and pay is based on experience. Must provide own tools and be able to pass physical and drug screen.
Essential Job Duties:
Support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with the goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery or equipment to diagnose issues.
Ensure safety by following all company policies, including safety rules, procedures, and Lock-out / Tag-out procedures.
Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted. Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders, and detailed logs and have good communication skills across all groups/departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work.
- Mechanical Knowledge preferred.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Strong electrical background preferred.
- PLC experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time (except for break and lunch periods), climb, perform repetitive motions, and work in a damp, loud environment. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic chemicals.
