Mid Level International Trade Compliance Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level international trade compliance job?
Position your experience around ownership and outcomes rather than task execution. Highlight specific classifications you led, audits you managed end to end, or compliance gaps you identified and resolved. Tailor your resume to the regulatory frameworks the role lists, such as Export Administration Regulations or Customs and Border Protection requirements, and demonstrate that you can operate with minimal supervision on complex trade matters.
Which companies hire mid level international trade compliances?
Companies hiring mid level international trade compliances right now include Citi, Deloitte, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from large manufacturers, global logistics providers, and multinational retailers that manage ongoing cross-border trade programs requiring experienced compliance professionals.
Are there remote mid level international trade compliance jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and the complexity of the role. About 37% of mid level international trade compliance openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting demand from companies whose compliance teams operate across multiple sites or time zones. Roles tied to physical goods inspection or on-site audits are more likely to require in-person work.
How do I move up to a mid level international trade compliance role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on deepening specialization and taking on progressively independent work. Focus on mastering a core area, such as HTS classification, sanctions screening, or export licensing, then seek projects where you own the outcome rather than support someone else. Earning a credential like a Certified Export Specialist or leading an internal audit builds the track of demonstrated impact that mid level postings require.
Which industries hire the most mid level international trade compliances?
Mid Level international trade compliance roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Investment & Asset Management, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at this level because they manage high volumes of cross-border transactions, supply chain complexity, and regulatory exposure that require experienced professionals rather than generalists.
