Associate, Investment Banking Investor Relations
Firm: Chronic Capital LLC
Location: 24 School St., Boston, MA 02108 (In-person, 5 days per week)
Position: Associate, Investment Banking Investor Relations
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Firm
Chronic Capital is a boutique investment bank focused on capital raises for the lower middle market ($5–$250M). Our coverage industries include real estate, health & wellness, life sciences, essential services, aviation, business services, consumer, specialty, and more. We partner with entrepreneurs, founders, and innovators to help them access the capital they need to grow their business. In addition to capital raises, we provide M&A support, sponsor coverage, and advisory services.
About the Role
We are seeking a personable, highly organized Associate to join our Capital Markets team in an investor-relations–focused capacity. In this role, you will be the connective tissue between Chronic Capital and the capital providers we work with — building and maintaining our investor network, driving outreach, and managing relationships throughout each engagement. You will own investor communications, coordinate marketing and outreach efforts across live mandates, and serve as a trusted point of contact for the lenders, sponsors, family offices, and institutional investors in our universe. This is a relationship-driven, high-ownership role for someone who is energized by building a network, communicates exceptionally well, and wants broad exposure across our coverage industries in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, expand, and maintain Chronic Capital's network of capital providers — lenders, private credit funds, equity sponsors, family offices, and institutional investors — and serve as a primary point of contact.
- Manage investor outreach across live capital raises: identify and prioritize the right investors for each mandate, run distribution, and track engagement through to commitment.
- Own the firm's CRM and investor database — keeping contacts, mandates, preferences, and activity accurate, current, and actionable.
- Coordinate and prepare investor-facing materials, including teasers, marketing decks, and investor updates, working with senior bankers to ensure messaging is clear and consistent.
- Schedule and support investor meetings and calls; prepare briefing materials, capture follow-ups, and ensure timely, professional responses.
- Manage data room access and diligence requests, serving as the day-to-day liaison among investors, clients, and counsel.
- Track the capital-raise pipeline and investor feedback, and report status and next steps to the deal team.
- Maintain relationships between active engagements through regular touchpoints, market updates, and ongoing investor engagement.
- Support business development by mapping new investor relationships and helping prepare materials for new-business meetings.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, communications, or a related field.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in investor relations, capital markets, fundraising, business development, sales, or a comparable relationship-driven role (investment banking, private credit, or private equity backgrounds welcome).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with investors and produce polished, client-ready materials.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills; comfortable initiating and sustaining conversations with capital providers.
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage many relationships and workstreams simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); a working understanding of financial concepts and capital structures.
- FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Proficient working with large data sets — organizing, analyzing, and drawing insight from investor and market data.
- Experienced in building and maintaining data systems (e.g., CRM/investor databases, pipelines, and reporting workflows).
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
- Self-starter mentality with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a small, entrepreneurial team.
- Able to work in-person at our Boston office five days per week.
Preferred
- Existing relationships with capital providers, lenders, sponsors, or family offices.
- Experience supporting lower-middle-market capital raises, fundraising, or investor relations.
- Familiarity with one or more of our coverage industries (real estate, health & wellness, essential services, aviation, business services, consumer, or specialty).
- Progress toward the CFA designation or a relevant graduate degree.
Compensation & Benefits

- Opportunity to join a rapidly growing investment banking platform at an early stage and play a meaningful role in shaping the firm's growth and investor network.
- Gain direct exposure to senior decision-makers across private credit funds, family offices, banks, private equity firms, and institutional investors, building relationships that typically take years to develop.
- Work alongside experienced bankers in a highly entrepreneurial environment where performance, initiative, and results are recognized and rewarded.

Investment Banking Analyst Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an investment banking analyst job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's Financial District and Back Bay, where boutique advisory firms, middle-market banks, and private equity-backed companies concentrate their analyst hiring. A finance or economics degree from a Boston-area university carries real weight with local firms. Networking through industry events and alumni connections at Boston's major financial institutions gives candidates a meaningful edge over applicants applying cold.
Which companies hire investment banking analysts in Boston?
Companies currently hiring investment banking analysts in Boston include Amazon, PwC, and Deloitte, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's hiring mix includes regional boutique advisory firms, large asset managers, and the investment banking arms of major financial institutions with offices in the Financial District and Seaport.
Are there remote investment banking analyst jobs in Boston?
Yes, though remote availability is limited given the deal-intensive and client-facing nature of most investment banking analyst roles. About 36% of investment banking analyst openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Modeling, research, and due diligence tasks are the functions most likely to allow off-site flexibility.
How can I get an investment banking analyst job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through a summer analyst internship at a regional boutique or a large firm with a Boston office, as many convert interns to full-time hires. Entry-level financial analyst and junior associate roles at Boston's asset managers and private equity firms also serve as common lateral moves into banking. Candidates with CFA Level I progress or strong financial modeling skills stand out among entry-level applicants in this market.
Which industries hire the most investment banking analysts in Boston?
Boston investment banking analyst roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's deep life sciences ecosystem, established asset management community, and active private equity scene combine to make it one of the more active mid-tier markets for investment banking analyst hiring outside of New York.
