Job Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and day-to-day operation of FreedomWorks’ technology systems, infrastructure, and technology assets. This position serves as the primary point of contact for organizational technology support and is responsible for ensuring staff have reliable access to the systems, equipment, and technological resources necessary to effectively carry out their duties.
This role works closely with staff, leadership, vendors, and external partners to maintain stable, secure, and efficient technology operations across all FreedomWorks’ programs, facilities, and departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Operations & User Support
- Serve as primary point of contact for organizational technology support, responding to and resolving hardware, software, network, account, and system issues.
- Provide onboarding and offboarding technology support, including user access and access management.
- Support staff through troubleshooting, training, and guidance on organizational technology systems and best practices.
- Ensure organizational technology systems remain operational and responsive to business needs.
2. System Administration & Infrastructure Management
- Administer and maintain FreedomWorks’ technology infrastructure.
- Manage FreedomWorks’ cyber security practices, user permissions, data protection, and system security in accordance with organizational standards.
- Maintain electronic security systems including access control, key cards, biometric systems, surveillance cameras, and related building technology.
- Maintain organizational communications technology.
3. Technology Asset & Vendor Management
- Maintain inventory, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and lifecycle management of organizational technology assets and equipment.
- Coordinate technology purchases, repairs, warranties, vendor relationships, and service requests to ensure continuity of operations.
- Maintain documentation related to technology systems, licenses, vendors, procedures as needed.
- Monitor technology performance and recommend replacement or operational improvements as necessary
4. Website Administration & Operational Support
- Maintain FreedomWorks and JailBreakers websites, ensuring organizational content, news, events, blogs, contact information, and digital resources remain current and accurate.
- Support organizational meetings, trainings, events, and operational initiatives requiring technology or audio-visual support.
- Assist with technology-related compliance requests, audits, reporting, and operational projects.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify technology needs and implement approved technology initiatives that support operations.
5. Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement when managing sensitive organizational systems and information.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support or FreedomWorks’ mission and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Alignment with and commitment to FreedomWorks’ mission, values, and faith-based approach.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences preferred, equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of two years experience in Information Technology.
- Experience in systems, hardware, software, and network administration.
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and technology assets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to operational needs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement regarding sensitive information.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent use of computers and technology equipment, including extended periods of sitting, typing, and screen work. The employee may regularly move throughout organizational facilities to provide technical support, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain technology systems. Occasional lifting, carrying, installation, and movement of technology equipment up to 50 pounds may be required. This role may require ladder use, equipment setup, and work in mechanical or utility spaces when supporting technology infrastructure. Work Environment
This position operates across multiple FreedomWorks facilities and program environments. Work is performed in office settings, residential program spaces, common areas, meeting rooms, and technology infrastructure locations. The role requires regular interaction with staff, leadership, vendors, volunteers, and participants while supporting organizational technology operations. The work environment is dynamic and requires flexibility, responsiveness, and the ability to address technology issues that impact organizational operations.
