SUMMARY
Our team seeks an Electrician Apprentice to learn on-the-job under the supervision of a Senior electrician. The apprenticeship will teach you how to assess and repair electrical problems. As an Electrician Apprentice, you will complete both hands-on Repairs/projects. To start, your duties will include basic cleaning and maintenance tasks and progress to more skill-based tasks as you gain experience.
Electrician Apprentice Responsibilities:
- Learning from the Lead Electrician and completing all assigned duties.
- Identifying, analyzing, troubleshooting, and assisting with repairs of equipment and electrical faults.
- Interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Update SAP, maintain work logs, and collaborate with work progress.
- Identify required replacement parts as needed.
- Completing electrical installations and carrying out various maintenance duties.
- Use a variety of tools and techniques to complete electrical tasks.
- Working irregular hours and overtime when required.
- Communicating in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
Electrician Apprentice Requirements:
- Practical experience working with electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
- Ability to handle criticism appropriately.
- Comply with safety requirements and notifies management of noted exceptions.
- Follows all environmental compliance policies & programs.
- Works as instructed with outside contractors.
- Willing to attend annual training for new or improved electrical & PLC systems.
- Comply with all plant rules.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Regular Attendance on site and ability to rotate to varying shifts.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Able to do repetitive hand, arm, leg movements for several hours.
- Able to climb on and off of fork truck.
- Ability to stand for 10 - 12 hours straight.
- Able to climb and descend stairs for up to 12 hours continuously.
- Lift and push and pull 50lbs. More than 100 times per day.
- Must be able to squat, bend at the waist and knees freely.
- Exposure to temperature extremes.
- Exposure to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
- Handle, control or feel objects, tools or control continuously.
- Repetitive movements.
