We are seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and driven Ministry Assistant to assist our Worship, Pastoral Care, and Legacy Adult Ministries. The ideal candidate will have a heart for empowering volunteers and model our core values. This individual will interact with internal teams, church members, families, and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma
- 3+ years of administrative skills
- Knowledge of Office 365 Apps, Outlook, and other business applications
- Heart for service to the Lord
- Desire to empower people to serve
- Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision
- Embrace change and can adapt quickly with a “whatever it takes” attitude
- Able to figure it out, follow through, and get it done
- Strong ability to relate to all staff with compassion, humility, and confidence
- Requires technical skills, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify and meet strict time constraints for specific tasks
Responsibilities
Worship Ministry
- Assist Worship Ministry Leaders in preparing for weekly and special worship services, including Planning Center, lyric input and import, preparing sheet music binders, email reminders, etc.
- Order music and other materials for Worship Ministry needs
- Maintain choir, orchestra, and worship team attendance and ensure that we have updated information on all ministry participants
- Gather data for weekly attendance in worship services
- Ensure snacks and other volunteer hospitality are stocked weekly
Performing Arts Academy of Central Florida
- Assist with enrollment, payment, and lesson scheduling for the PAACF
- Ensure instructor payroll is correct and approve time for instructors
- Coordinate recitals and other activities throughout the year
Pastoral Care
- Coordinate baptisms, including contact the baptism candidate and coordinating with internal teams when a baptism occurs.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating the needs of funerals and weddings. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure these moments are executed well.
- Maintain list of members in hospitals, assisted living, or nursing facilities, and provide list to pastoral team/deacons.
- Manage our prayer list and send to church membership.
- Assist with the needs of our Food Pantry
Legacy Adults
- Assist in planning and support various legacy adult events, including monthly gatherings and special trips.
General
- Assist with ordering, credit card charges and invoice processing, budget tracking and forecasting.
- Assist with event calendar tracking and coordination.
- Coordinate various projects and activities
- Other duties as assigned

- A teachable and an enthusiastic learner.
- Maintains flexible working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry.
- Attends regular church and team staff meetings as required.
- Begin and end projects within reasonable timeframes and communicates needs.
- Proficient with current technology and communication tools.
- Aligned with organizational vision, goals, values, and policies.
- Works well with others and within a team environment.
- Become an invested member of Church at the Cross
