Senior Level Pediatric Physician Assistant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level pediatric physician assistant job?
Employers hiring at the senior level look for candidates who have moved beyond routine patient care into clinical leadership. Demonstrating ownership of specialty programs, quality improvement initiatives, or preceptorship roles strengthens an application significantly. A focused subspecialty background, such as pediatric cardiology, neonatology, or oncology, and evidence of protocol development or peer-reviewed contribution give candidates a clear edge over generalist applicants at this stage.
Which companies hire senior level pediatric physician assistants?
Companies hiring senior level pediatric physician assistants right now include State Street, Bohler, and University of Kentucky, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to be concentrated among large academic children's hospitals, regional pediatric health systems, and specialty group practices with established advanced practice provider programs.
Are there remote senior level pediatric physician assistant jobs?
Yes, though most pediatric PA work is clinical and requires an on-site presence. About 8% of senior level pediatric physician assistant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with those roles typically involving telemedicine consultation, care coordination, or clinical education rather than direct hands-on patient care.
What makes a pediatric physician assistant role senior level?
Senior level roles are defined by the scope of independent judgment and institutional ownership they require. At this stage, a pediatric physician assistant leads complex or high-acuity cases, contributes to clinical guidelines, and actively mentors mid-level and early-career PAs. The distinction from mid-level roles lies less in years of service and more in demonstrated accountability for outcomes, protocols, and team development.
Which industries hire the most senior level pediatric physician assistants?
Senior Level pediatric physician assistant roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the senior level because they support the specialized patient volumes, subspecialty infrastructure, and advanced practice provider leadership structures that experienced pediatric PAs are positioned to lead.
