*This is a hybrid role with three weeks per month onsite (Mon. – Thurs.) and is based out of our New York Office at 12 W. 31st St.
As Public Relations Manager, you will lead earned media and brand communications for Lands’ End, owning the strategy and execution that drive national and local publicity for the brand, and ultimately brand heat & long-term equity. Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing, you will direct the company’s press relationships, serve as the primary liaison to the PR agency, and own product placements, brand partnerships/collaborations, and earned influencer relations. You will also conceive and produce experiential, customer- and media/influencer-facing events that bring the brand to life. This is a player-coach role: you will personally drive high-priority earned-media work while managing and developing a PR Coordinator and two PR Assistants. The ideal candidate is a strategically sharp, proactive builder who directs agencies effectively, connects activations to business results, and operates with an entrepreneurial mindset in a fast-paced environment.
- Press & Media Relations. Develop and execute earned-media strategy to garner national and local publicity. Build and maintain strong media relationships; create and evaluate press releases, talking points, pitches, and media materials; serve as a PR spokesperson for the brand in local markets.
- Agency Liaison. Serve as the primary point of contact for the PR/creator agency. Set priorities, brief, and direct agency work; hold partners accountable to deliverables, timelines, and measurable results; ensure agency activity ladders up to business objectives.
- Product Placements. Own product placement strategy and execution across editorial, broadcast, digital, and entertainment. Manage sample, gifting, and seeding programs to maximize brand visibility and accurate credit.
- Partnerships & Collaborations. Identify, pitch, and manage brand partnerships and collaborations that extend earned reach and align with business goals. Lead cross-functional execution with Merchandising, Creative, and Retail from concept through results.
- Earned Influencer Relations. Build and manage earned (non-paid) influencer and creator relationships that amplify brand storytelling. Cultivate a credible creator ecosystem and coordinate with the Social & Creator team on integrated creator activity.
- Experiential & Events. Conceive and produce experiential, customer-facing and media/influencer-facing events — pop-ups, deskside briefings, media tours, launches, and special events. Ensure each event captures customer acquisition/retention value and delivers visible brand amplification.
- Team Leadership. Manage, coach, and develop a PR Coordinator and two PR Assistants. Set goals, allocate work, and build an accountable, high-performing team; develop talent and reduce single-point-of-knowledge dependencies.
- Planning & Measurement. Create and manage PR budgets, deadlines, objectives, and schedules. Monitor, analyze, and report earned-media results and ROI to senior leadership; translate data into recommendations and plans.
- Cross-Functional Partnership. Partner with broader internal business stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging delivered in tandem with seasonal priorities.
- Crisis & Issues Management. Manage media inquiries, issues, and reputational risk; provide strategic communications counsel to leadership.

- Demonstrated people-management experience; ability to lead, coach, and develop a team.
- Proven ability to direct agencies and external partners to measurable outcomes.
- Experience owning product placements, brand partnerships and collaborations, and earned influencer/creator relations.

Senior Level Public Relations Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level public relations specialist job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who have owned high-stakes campaigns, managed agency or vendor relationships, and guided junior staff. A portfolio demonstrating measurable outcomes, crisis communications experience, and the ability to align PR strategy with broader business goals will separate strong candidates. Executive-level media relationships and demonstrated success influencing brand reputation in complex environments are a significant advantage.
Which companies hire senior level public relations specialists?
Companies hiring senior level public relations specialists right now include Highwire, Intuit, and Jobot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from large corporations managing complex reputations, established PR and communications agencies, and mission-driven organizations with significant public-facing programs.
Are there remote senior level public relations specialist jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and sector. About 24% of senior level public relations specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in communications roles. Many senior positions still expect periodic in-person presence for executive briefings, media events, or team leadership, so hybrid arrangements are more common than fully remote at this level.
What makes a public relations specialist role senior level?
Senior level roles are defined by ownership rather than execution. A senior public relations specialist sets the communications strategy, manages stakeholder and media relationships independently, leads or mentors a team, and is accountable for measurable outcomes. They handle escalated situations such as crisis response, advise leadership on positioning, and align PR programs with organizational objectives rather than simply carrying out assigned tasks.
Which industries hire the most senior level public relations specialists?
Senior level public relations specialist roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Banking & Financial Services, and Fintech, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they operate in high-visibility environments where reputation management, executive communications, and proactive media strategy are ongoing business priorities rather than occasional needs.
