Job Description Summary:
Monday thru Friday position 8-4:30pm
Position Responsibilities
- Perform quality pulmonary function studies following established guidelines.
- Demonstrates functional knowledge of all equipment used in the Pulmonary Function Laboratory.
- Interprets results of pulmonary function tests in order to ascertain technical accuracy and patient cooperation.
- Performs daily quality checks on equipment as scheduled and document in maintenance logs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of trouble shooting techniques of all Pulmonary Function and Bronchoscopy equipment to ensure patient safety and accuracy of results.
- Assist physician during bronchoscopy procedure following established guidelines.
- Prepares bronchoscopy suite, equipment and supplies and ensures all equipment needed is available and in good working order.
- Schedules procedures and ensures that patient is transported and medicated according to schedule.
- Maintains adequate inventory of supplies, medications, and trays for proper levels and dates of expiration.
- Demonstrates ability and knowledge of all techniques through clinical competencies at least annually.
- Attends staff meetings. Responsible for all information communicated at meetings.
- Participates in patient/family education and teaching as required by department policy and procedure.
- Completes assignments within expected time frame while adapting to changing workloads.
- Enter charges in computer accurately on a daily basis.
- Uses supplies, equipment, and resources in cost effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
License/Registration/Certification
- CRT required, RRT preferred, BLS required
Education
- Graduate of one-year accredited program for Respiratory Care.
Experience
- Minimum 2 year pulmonary function testing experience preferred.
