ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Objective: The Electrical Supervisor (PV) is responsible for overseeing all electrical works related to the photovoltaic (PV) plant, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Typical responsibilities include trenching, cable pulling (LV DC, LV AC, MV AC), fiber optic laying, cable terminations, PV module installation, inverter and Power Conversion Unit (PCU) installation, grounding system setup, MET station installation, SCADA & Communications, CCTV systems, testing, support for completion certificates, and both cold and hot commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure contractor compliance with the HSE Plan.
- Provide technical supervision of the EPC Contractor’s electrical works.
- Conduct daily inspections of all electrical activities on site.
- Ensure electrical works are executed in line with design documents, EPC contract, best practices, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor compliance with approved method statements and designs.
- Oversee quality assurance and control, including review and sign-off of method statements and ITPs; witness testing and conduct spot checks.
- Prepare weekly progress reports on electrical works.
- Monitor construction progress against schedule and project objectives.
- Review construction workload, manpower utilization, and staffing needs regularly.
- Implement daily checks to ensure all supervised activities follow approved procedures and work practices.
- Perform receipt inspections of electrical equipment and issue inspection reports.
- Prepare construction and commissioning punch lists for defects or shortages.
- Monitor mobilization and supervise vendor specialists; approve Site Acceptance Tests.
- Witness all electrical installation and commissioning tests (static and dynamic).
- Supervise construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with QA, safety, and environmental goals.
- Prepare and coordinate resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in site-based electrical works (1-3 years of Experience in solar energy projects).
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with clients and contractors.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Formal safety qualification.
- Solid understanding of Quality Assurance principles and compliance.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Willingness to work on remote project sites on a permanent basis.
