INTRODUCTION
Wood Group is looking for an Electrical Quality Inspector to support our Black Bayou project. Inspect product/material and associated documentation to confirm compliance with Wood, Client, or industry specifications/codes and relevant purchase order requirements. This includes supplier sites, Wood and client worksites, and/or receipts at warehouse locations. This role is typically Program or project-based.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Validate inspection requirements and carry out inspection activities at worksites including suppliers, warehouses, etc.
- Witness/review of testing activities in compliance with Inspection and test plan requirements.
- Verification that appropriate approvals are in place prior to commencement of specific works (e.g. weld procedures are approved, welder certification, etc.).
- Review and endorsement of quality records raised as an output from manufacturing and installation processes.
- Generation of inspection and progress reports as required.
- Final inspection release and issue of inspection release notes.
- Report any inspection deficiencies and queries to the project quality team.
- Verification that inspection test equipment is fit for purpose and calibrated prior to use.
- Verification of equipment storage and preservation in line with manufacturer's recommendations.
- Provide support to as-building processes and handover for completions.
- Assist in auditing of suppliers as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree/diploma or local equivalent in quality or technical discipline (desirable).
- Inspection certificate in a relevant discipline (e.g. welding/electrical/mechanical) from a recognized industry or national body (essential).
- Radiographic interpretation certificate (piping welding inspectors only – desirable).
- Quality auditor qualification by a recognized industry body (desirable).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years relevant experience (preferably in the associated industry).
- Awareness of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
