Overview
Cadrex is searching for a Quality Inspector III to directly support site manufacturing practices through development, evaluation, and continual improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles, and methodologies with the goal of consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations of quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plate, and height gage
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Visual inspection of product according to customer requirements
- Inspect and or test in-process product as well as finished product
- Document inspection results by completing required reports/logs
- Identify and quarantine all non-conforming product
- Generate and summarize non-conforming reports for discrepant products
- Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and identify and address issues with equipment that may need repair
- Inspect and approve incoming materials where and when needed by confirming they meet specifications
- Attend department meetings as required
- Inspect and release products for shipping by ensuring proper documentation or certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements. (Visual & Dimensional verification may be required)
- Learn and assist with dimensional verification of PPAP and 1st article parts
- Create internal Control Plans in accordance with customer and Advanced Laser requirements
- Operate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment
- Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation and development of manufacturing related documentation and providing proper measuring techniques
- Assist with calibration procedures and provide calibration of measuring equipment as outlined by Advanced Laser procedures and ISO Standard
- Collaborate with the team for corrective action in reaction to customer complaints, vendor issues, and internal process failures
- Ability to successfully work on a team to resolve issues with manufacturing personnel
- Operate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment efficiently
- Participate in internal process audits including dimensional workmanship and documentation verification
- Complete PPAP and 1st article documentation development and processing
- Lead and train Level I and II inspectors as needed to increase performance
- Train, identify, and implement lean processes and project improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understand industry safety standards and quality expectations
- 5 or more years working in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS with hands on inspection preferred
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs
- Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the internet
Education
- High school diploma
- Associate degree in related field preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
