Role Summary

Database Administrator responsible for MongoDB and MySQL administration automation performance tuning backup restore and production support across Dev Test and Production environments

Key Responsibilities

1. MongoDB Administration
2. Install, configure, upgrade and maintain MongoDB databases
3. Monitor performance, replication and availability
4. Manage backup, restore, logical/physical and validate recovery procedures
5. Implement security controls, authentication, RBAC access
6. Troubleshoot issues related to performance, replication, connectivity and storage

7. Collaborate with application teams for schema design and query optimization

8. MySQL Administration

9. Install, configure and maintain MySQL databases
10. Execute backup, restore and DR operations
11. Monitor performance, capacity and availability
12. Perform performance tuning, indexing, query optimization
13. Manage users, privileges and security

14. Handle patching, upgrades and maintenance

15. Backup Restore DR Management

16. Design and implement backup strategies for MongoDB and MySQL
17. Conduct regular restore testing and DR validation
18. Maintain documentation for backup, restore and DR processes

19. Support audit and compliance requirements

20. Monitoring Production Support

21. Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues
22. Participate in incident management and RCA
23. Provide on-call production support

24. Maintain SOPs and operational documentation

25. Automation Scripting

26. Develop and maintain automation scripts for
    • Backup/restore operations
    • Health checks and monitoring
    • Routine maintenance tasks
27. Automate database deployment, configuration and patching activities
28. Implement scheduled jobs, cron/automation tools for recurring DB tasks
29. Utilize scripting (Shell, Python) to improve operational efficiency
30. Contribute to runbook automation and operational standardization

Required Skills Qualifications

- 7 years of experience in MongoDB and/or MySQL administration
- Strong expertise in
- Backup, restore and DR strategies
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience in
- Production database support and monitoring
- Strong knowledge of
- Linux/Unix environments
- Experience in automation and scripting (Shell/Python)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills

- Experience with MongoDB Atlas, AWS RDS, cloud DB platforms
- Exposure to
- High availability, replication, clustering
- DR and failover mechanisms
- Knowledge of
- Security and compliance practices
- Experience with
- Automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins pipelines) good to have

Skills

Mandatory Skills: Mongo DBA, MySQL DBA

Other details

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.

Benefits

Compensation range: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
