SUMMARY Assists in the oversight of supplies and provides physical assistance to the professional staff and department in fulfilling the mission of Rehabilitation Services of providing quality and cost effective care to patients. Assists in maintaining department cleanliness, supply stock, and regulatory readiness. Assists in the provision of rehabilitative services under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Has an accurate understanding of and demonstrates adherence to all departmental, hospital and health system policies and procedures, inclusive of infection control policy, and hand hygiene policy.

PATIENT CARE DUTIES
- Demonstrates professional conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Previous work experience as an aide and/or other health care experience preferred.
LICENSURE
Current BLS/CPR certification required within two months of hire.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Must be able to accurately read and use metric measurements, calibrate and report findings on equipment. Basic computer skills required for data entry, email, smart web paging and ability to access the electronic medical record. Capable of taking phone messages and operating office equipment to copy, scan and fax documents. Ability to work independently. Good interpersonal skills. Job requires dexterity to perform support services for the therapist.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
The worker must be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb and perform repetitive motions of the wrist, fingers or hands. The worker is subject to inside environmental/atmospheric conditions such as poor ventilation and is also subject to hazards such as exposure to chemicals. The worker must be able to operate various exercise equipment, whirlpools, ultrasound and electrical stimulation equipment. Must be able to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects or the human body with assistance as necessary. Incumbents as well as internal applicants who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without the assistance of reasonable accommodation as determined on a case-by-case basis.
