Provide an excellent and technically-demanding Clinical and Translational Research Laboratory skills in a careful and independent manner for Clinical Research Core Laboratory. The personnel assists and works closely with the Laboratory Director for overall operations and functions of the laboratory.
- Bachelor's degree in a biological science or related field
- Minimum 3 years research/clinical/Laboratory related experience
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to work efficiently and to perform properly controlled molecular tests.
- Must have strong organization abilities and communication skills.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in research or clinical laboratory environment preferred. Experience in use of computer database applications desired
- Strong molecular and cell biology background and experience with molecular techniques such as DNA and RNA isolations, PCR, immunoassays and infectious disease related methodologies
SPECIAL REQUIRED ABILITY FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Ability to complete and pass successfully the required occupational health screening referenced in the University’s Animal Handler Health Surveillance Program on an annual basis.
REQUIRED BACKGROUND CHECK, PHYSICAL, AND DRUG SCREENING FOR INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CONTACT OR EXPOSURE TO ANIMALS OR ANIMAL TISSUES:
Selected candidates must complete and pass a background check and an occupational health screening as a condition of employment. For identified jobs, a drug screening will also be required. The background investigation required occupational health screening, and any required drug screening will be conducted after a conditional employment offer has been extended.
