DESCRIPTION
Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. Join us in inventing the tools that empower those sales people to be effective advisors and partners for our customers! The Sales Planning and Compensation (SPC) team is looking for a driven, curious, and passionate inventor to dive deep into our Seller’s lives to identify key areas for investment for SPC to build globally scaled products that help them be the worlds best salespeople.
As a member of the Sales Planning and Compensation (SPC) team, you will shape the AWS business's direction as a whole. You will build greenfield solutions from the ground up while using native AWS services and frameworks. The right candidate will have a robust system delivery background, well-rounded technical knowledge, and demonstrated experience working on large scale projects. The candidate must be customer-obsessed, have strong analytical and communication skills, and passionate about learning new technologies.
You will work with software development engineers to understand features and technical implementation. You will also work with groups such as product management, UX designers to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests driving the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies. You will develop automated tests to help fasten testing cycles and release faster to our customers. In this role, you will be responsible to deliver manual/automated solutions to test customer facing features.
This position may be based in Seattle (WA), Dallas (TX), Denver (CO), or Arlington (VA). Relocation offered for US residents only.
Key job responsibilities
Test Planning and Strategy: Developing comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project requirements, ensuring all aspects of the application are covered.
Test Case Development: Designing, writing, and maintaining detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases.
Test Execution: Executing test cases (both manual and automated) and ensuring software quality across various stages of the software development lifecycle.
Defect Identification and Reporting: Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using bug tracking tools, and working closely with the development team to resolve them.
Automation Development: Writing and maintaining automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks to increase test coverage and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the testing process and improve product quality.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure quality standards are met.
Performance and Load Testing: Conducting performance, scalability, and load testing to ensure the application can handle the expected load.
Test Environment Management: Setting up, maintaining, and managing test environments to ensure they reflect production environments as closely as possible.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assessing risks associated with releases and working on strategies to mitigate them, ensuring minimal impact on production environments.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience
- Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
