Long standing Geotechnical Engineering firm seeks remote field based Staff Engineer in the greater Sacramento area! (company Vehicle/gas card)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a leading engineering firm, working on a diverse range of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering and a deep understanding of ACI Concrete standards and AWS standards in welding. This role demands a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. The successful candidate will be responsible for field testing, sampling, and inspection of concrete and soils on construction sites.

Responsibilities

- Perform field testing, sampling, and inspection of concrete and soils in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely field reports on the results of the tests and inspections.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the project specifications and quality standards.
- Assist in the evaluation of field and laboratory test data and provide recommendations based on the findings.
- Monitor and document construction activities related to soil and concrete work.
- Maintain and calibrate all testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Provide technical assistance to the project team and clients as needed.
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations on the construction site.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Concrete Field Technician, Project Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, or a similar role.
- A valid ACI or AWS certification is required.
- Proficiency in using various testing equipment and tools (compaction testing with Nuclear Gauge a plus).
- Strong understanding of construction materials and methods, particularly concrete and soils.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare detailed and accurate reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to various construction sites as needed.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Strong commitment to ensuring safety and quality on the job site.

COMPENSATION

- Salary: $35 - $45 per hour
