Strategy Operations Manager Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a strategy operations manager job in Chicago?
Target Chicago's densest hiring corridors: the Loop for financial services and professional services firms, the West Loop and Fulton Market for tech and growth-stage companies, and River North for consulting and media. Employers here prioritize candidates with cross-functional project experience, comfort with ambiguous mandates, and familiarity with Chicago's major industry verticals. Tailoring your application to the specific sector, whether healthcare systems, trading firms, or logistics companies, gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire strategy operations managers in Chicago?
Chicago strategy operations manager roles are posted by Google, Beyond Finance, and DoorDash and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's market includes large Midwestern enterprises, regional consulting firms, and a growing set of venture-backed technology companies, all of which regularly staff this function.
Are there remote strategy operations manager jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability varies: strategy operations work is moderately remote-friendly for analytical and planning duties but often requires in-person collaboration for stakeholder management and execution work. About 12% of strategy operations manager openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting a hybrid-first norm across most Chicago employers. Fully remote postings tend to come from technology companies headquartered in or recruiting out of Chicago.
How can I get a strategy operations manager job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is through an associate or analyst role inside a strategy, operations, or business transformation team. Chicago's large healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and management consulting offices frequently hire operations analysts who rotate into strategy functions. Roles with titles like business operations analyst, strategy associate, or chief of staff coordinator at mid-size Chicago companies are strong lateral moves. Demonstrating experience with process improvement, data analysis, or cross-team projects in any industry accelerates the transition.
Which industries hire the most strategy operations managers in Chicago?
The sectors hiring the most strategy operations managers in Chicago are Technology & Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's role as a Midwestern hub for finance, healthcare, and logistics means these industries maintain persistent headcount in this function to manage scale, operational complexity, and strategic planning cycles.
