Title:
Substation Electrical Engineer
KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.
KBR is looking for a Substation Electrical Engineer, SME to supervise and lead a group of engineers and designers. Provides technical direction, training, mentoring and/or quality checking project deliverables. You will plan, budget, organize, and control an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering scope.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Must have experience leading teams of electrical engineers and designers on projects for electrical substations.

Experience is required related to the development of task analysis for engineering and design hours; working with project schedules; and tracking earned value on the completed electrical engineering and design.

The candidate must be able to travel to client sites for client meetings and surveys of existing facilities.

Must be proficient on the following technical topics:
-
High voltage substation engineering and design.

Substation yard layouts, sections, grounding, lightning protection, raceways, and bill of materials.

One lines, three lines, auxiliary AC and DC power systems and schematics, relay panels, and equipment wiring.

Protection and controls design.
-
Calculations (grounding, lightning protection, AC and DC load studies, etc.).

Substation equipment specifications.
-
National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standards.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

10+ years of experience required.

Excellent communication skills.
-
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred.
