The Role: Strategic Lead for API Governance & Digital Ecosystems
As organizations accelerate their digital transformation, the ability to securely expose and govern data assets becomes a core competitive advantage. Boomi is seeking a Senior Presales Solutions Engineer with deep expertise in API Management (APIM) to lead our most complex technical engagements in North America.
In this strategic role, you will act as a principal architect, helping enterprise clients transition from fragmented connectivity to a mature, API-led architecture. You will be responsible for defining the vision of how Boomi's platform secures, manages, and scales digital services, ensuring that integration efforts translate into measurable business value and ecosystem growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Architecture & Vision: Lead the design of comprehensive API strategies that encompass the full lifecycle—from initial design and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger) to sophisticated security policy enforcement and retirement.
- Executive Technical Consultation: Partner with C-level stakeholders and Enterprise Architects to articulate the ROI of an "API-First" strategy, focusing on security, scalability, and the productization of data.
- Advanced Security Orchestration: Serve as the subject matter expert on enterprise-grade security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Lavender, JWT), ensuring Boomi's gateway solutions meet stringent corporate compliance and governance standards.
- Developer Ecosystem Advocacy: Architect and demonstrate robust Developer Portals that facilitate the discovery and consumption of internal and external APIs, fostering innovation across the client's ecosystem.
- Win-Team Leadership: Coordinate cross-functional teams of internal specialists to lead high-stakes Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and deliver authoritative responses to complex RFI/RFP technical requirements.
- Cross-Product Synergy: Demonstrate the critical intersection between API Management and foundational iPaaS, showing how governed APIs serve as the secure delivery mechanism for the enterprise "Golden Record."
Professional Qualifications
- Enterprise API Expertise: Extensive experience in API Lifecycle Management and the deployment of high-performance API Gateways within complex, distributed environments.
- Security & Governance Mastery: Deep technical proficiency in modern identity providers and security frameworks, with a clear understanding of how to mitigate risks at the edge.
- Architectural Depth: Proven ability to design solutions incorporating Microservices, Service Mesh, and Event-Driven Architectures (EDA).
- Consultative Selling: A track record of driving technical alignment in a sales environment, moving beyond feature-functionality to solve high-level business challenges.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to present to executive-level audiences, bridging the gap between technical complexity and strategic business outcomes.
Preferred Skills & Technical Credentials
- Cloud & APIM Platforms: Advanced proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP ecosystems and enterprise API suites (e.g., MuleSoft, Apigee, or Kong).
- Professional Certifications: Industry credentials in Cloud Architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), Information Security (CISSP/CCSP), or Enterprise Frameworks (TOGAF).
- Governance & Emerging Tech: Expertise in API Lifecycle Management and the security/orchestration of AI-driven APIs and LLMs.

Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The On Target Earnings (OTE) for this role are $175K - $219K (inclusive of commission).
