ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role provides leadership and direction to engineering managers and staff responsible for network and systems design, deployment, evolution, and strategy. It manages multiple functional areas and develops engineering objectives aligned with business goals. The role differentiates by overseeing operational plans and collaborating on strategic direction within the functional area. Success is measured by the achievement of engineering goals and alignment with organizational objectives. The work impacts the organization by ensuring effective network systems design and supporting business growth through strategic engineering initiatives.
- Lead and develop engineering managers and staff to achieve performance and behavior objectives within the function
- Engage cross-functionally with department leadership and vendors to advance major initiatives and resolve operational issues
- Contribute to budget development and manage resources to meet financial objectives within the area
- Develop and approve network design documents for new systems and features deployment
- Ensure development and execution of test plans for major releases and key features following engineering best practices
- Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
- Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Related Field (Preferred)
- 7-10 years Technical management experience in a large corporate IP, IT or Wireless Service provider networking environment. (Preferred)
- 7-10 years Experience in budget forecasting and budget tracking with a high degree of accuracy. (Preferred)
- 7-10 years Experience creating and presenting technical and financial business cases to senior management. (Preferred)
- 7-10 years Skilled at management of RFI/RFP process, capital acquisitions and contract negotiations. (Preferred)
- 7-10 years Effective organizational objectives/goal setting and achieving experience. (Preferred)

COMPENSATION
- Base Pay Range: $141,900 - $255,900
- Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
