Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Human Capital Management
Frame your credentials around Management Consultant
TN visas don't list HR Manager or CHRO as qualifying titles. Your offer letter and credentials must explicitly map your Human Capital Management duties to the Management Consultant category using advisory and strategic planning language, not operational management.
Secure a detailed support letter before the border
CBP officers adjudicate Canadian TN applications at the port of entry in minutes. Your employer's support letter must specify your HCM duties, the consulting nature of the role, and your degree field. Vague letters get rejected on the spot.
Search for TN-eligible roles at employers with visa experience
Migrate Mate filters jobs by TN visa eligibility, so you can identify Human Capital Management roles at employers experienced with visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to positions where visa support may not be available.
Mexican nationals should apply at U.S. consulate early
Unlike Canadians, Mexican TN applicants go through consular processing, which requires employer support documentation. Starting that documentation process 60 or more days before your intended start date prevents avoidable delays at the consulate.

Find Human Capital Management JobsHuman Capital Management TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Human Capital Management qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, but the job title matters. HCM roles qualify under the TN Management Consultant category when your duties involve advising on workforce strategy, organizational design, or HR systems. Operational titles like HR Director or People Ops Manager need to be reframed in your offer letter and support documentation to emphasize the consulting and advisory nature of the work.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Human Capital Management professionals?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no multi-month wait for adjudication. H-1B selection is random and limited to 85,000 slots per fiscal year, meaning most applicants don't get selected at all. For HCM professionals from Canada or Mexico with a qualifying job offer, TN is a faster and more predictable path than entering the H-1B lottery cycle.
Can I use Migrate Mate to find Human Capital Management jobs with TN sponsorship?
Yes. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can search for Human Capital Management positions where employers have indicated TN eligibility, so you're not wasting applications on companies that only know H-1B or that haven't sponsored TN workers before.
What documents do Canadian HCM professionals need at the port of entry?
You'll need a valid Canadian passport, a formal job offer letter describing your HCM duties in Management Consultant terms, proof of your relevant bachelor's degree or higher, and your employer's support letter. CBP processes Canadian TN applications on the spot, so every document needs to be organized and ready before you reach the officer.
How long does a TN visa last for HCM roles, and can it be renewed?
Each TN status period lasts up to three years. There's no limit on how many times you can renew, so Canadian and Mexican HCM professionals can remain in TN status indefinitely as long as they maintain a qualifying job offer. Renewals follow the same process as the initial application, either at the border for Canadians or through consular processing for Mexican nationals.
