Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Otolaryngologist
Verify your medical credentials match TN requirements
TN sponsorship for Otolaryngologists requires a valid medical degree plus board certification or a state license. Confirm your credentials align with the destination state's licensing board before approaching employers, since missing documentation delays offers.
Target hospitals with established international physician hiring
Academic medical centers, large health systems, and Veterans Affairs facilities process TN sponsorship for Physicians regularly. Focus outreach on departments with active residency or fellowship programs, where international hiring workflows are already in place.
Request a support letter that names USMCA specifically
Your employer's TN support letter must reference your specialty, your qualifying professional category under USMCA, and your intended duties. A generic offer letter without this language gets flagged at the port of entry or consulate.
Search TN-sponsored Otolaryngologist roles through Migrate Mate
Filtering by TN-eligible employers cuts out the guesswork of cold outreach. Migrate Mate surfaces Otolaryngologist roles at employers already familiar with USMCA sponsorship, so your applications reach recruiters who won't need a crash course on the visa.
Prepare for port-of-entry admission as a Canadian applicant
Canadian Otolaryngologists can apply for TN status directly at a land border or airport, bypassing USCIS petition filing. Bring your offer letter, medical degree, license, and board certification documents. CBP officers adjudicate on the spot, so bring originals.
Understand how state licensing affects your TN timeline
Most U.S. states won't issue a full medical license before you arrive, but many hospitals will hire under a temporary permit tied to your TN. Confirm with your employer which license tier satisfies their credentialing committee before you finalize the offer.

Find Otolaryngologist JobsOtolaryngologist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Otolaryngologist qualify as a TN visa occupation?
Yes. Otolaryngologists qualify under the Physicians category in the USMCA TN occupation list, provided the role is primarily teaching or research-based, or involves clinical work in a setting that satisfies the treaty's physician provisions. Canadian nationals apply at the border; Mexican nationals apply through a U.S. consulate. Your offer letter must specify the nature of your duties to confirm the category.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Otolaryngologist roles?
TN has no annual cap and no lottery, meaning Canadians can obtain status the same day at a port of entry and both Canadians and Mexicans avoid the H-1B annual registration gamble. H-1B allows dual intent and a clearer path to a green card, while TN requires you to maintain nonimmigrant intent. For ENT physicians who want to start working quickly without waiting on lottery results, TN is the faster option.
What documents does a sponsoring employer need to provide?
Your employer must provide a signed offer letter that states your job title, your USMCA professional category, your specific duties, your start date, and confirmation that the position is temporary in nature. Many hospitals also include a credentialing summary or department attestation. USCIS and CBP do not require a separate petition for TN, but the letter must be thorough enough to stand on its own at adjudication.
Where can I find Otolaryngologist jobs that already offer TN sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Otolaryngologist openings filtered by employers with TN visa sponsorship experience, so you're not spending time educating recruiters about USMCA basics. Searching by specialty and visa type narrows your list to roles where the hiring team understands the process and expects international physician applicants.
Can a Mexican Otolaryngologist apply for TN status at the border like Canadians can?
No. Mexican nationals must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at a port of entry. The consulate issues a TN visa stamp, which you then use to seek admission at the border. This adds processing time compared to the Canadian port-of-entry route, so Mexican applicants should factor in consular appointment availability when negotiating a start date with their employer.
