Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Sales Manager
Translate your credentials before applying
TN eligibility for Sales Manager roles hinges on degree-to-role alignment. If your bachelor's is in a field like economics or communications, document how it connects to sales management functions before your first interview.
Target employers with cross-border sales operations
Companies managing U.S.-Canada or U.S.-Mexico accounts are already familiar with TN sponsorship logistics. Prioritize organizations whose sales territories or client bases span the USMCA region, since their HR teams are likelier to move quickly.
Search TN-active employers using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Sales Manager openings by employers with recent visa filings. This cuts out the cold outreach and puts you in front of hiring teams already experienced with visa sponsorship and prepared to write support letters for qualified candidates.
Request a specific support letter from your employer
Your employer's TN support letter must state your job title, duties, and that a bachelor's degree in a qualifying field is required. A vague letter is the most common reason CBP or a consular officer asks follow-up questions at entry.
Clarify your port-of-entry strategy as a Canadian
As a Canadian citizen, you can apply for TN status directly at a land border or airport preclearance facility. Flying into a U.S. preclearance airport in Canada lets you resolve any issues before departure, unlike arriving at a domestic U.S. port.
Prepare for consular documentation as a Mexican citizen
Mexican citizens apply through a U.S. consulate and need an appointment, so build at least four to six weeks into your offer timeline. Your offer letter should clearly state your compensation and duties, and your employer will provide a support letter outlining your role and qualifications for TN eligibility.

Find Sales Manager JobsSales Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sales Manager role actually qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, but the qualification depends on the specific position, not just the title. The role must require a bachelor's degree in a field like business administration, marketing, or management. If your employer's job description accepts any degree or substitutes experience for education, the TN case becomes harder to support. The offer letter and your credentials need to align precisely.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Sales Manager positions?
TN has no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and no government petition filing. For a Sales Manager role where you already hold a qualifying degree, TN is faster and cheaper to execute than H-1B. The tradeoff is that TN doesn't lead directly to a green card and requires renewal tied to your employer. H-1B allows dual intent; TN does not.
Where can I find Sales Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built to surface Sales Manager roles at employers with recent visa filings, so you're not spending time on listings where the hiring team has never navigated work visa sponsorship. Filtering by employers experienced with visa sponsorship narrows the field to companies already equipped to prepare a support letter and move through the hiring process.
What happens if my Sales Manager duties change after I enter on TN status?
If your role changes materially, such as shifting from direct sales management to a broader operations or general management function, your existing TN may no longer accurately reflect your position. You'd need to update your TN classification, which typically means a new application at a port of entry or consulate. Keep your job description current with what you actually do.
Can a Mexican citizen apply for a Sales Manager TN at the border like a Canadian can?
No. Mexican citizens must apply through a U.S. consulate abroad and cannot use the port-of-entry process available to Canadian citizens. This means scheduling a nonimmigrant visa appointment, submitting supporting documents in advance, and accounting for consular processing time. Build at least four to six weeks into your timeline between receiving an offer and your anticipated start date.
