ABOUT VEG
In 2014, VEG was born with a mission to help people and their pets when they need it most. This meant challenging the status quo and fixing everything that was wrong with the ER experience. Since then, we've expanded rapidly, with hospitals nationwide open 24/7, 365 days a year, and created a better emergency experience—not only for people and their pets, but also for everyone who works here—our VEGgies!
At VEG we find a way to say yes to the career you want in veterinary emergency medicine. This means transforming how ER works, from our open-concept hospitals, where you can handle emergency cases of every kind (even exotics!) to our immersive, customer-focused experience, which helps us give people and their pets the care they deserve.
This also means saying yes to creating the greatest experience possible for our VEGgies. Yes to working in an environment where you can find your place and feel valued for the amazing work you do. - Anesthesia, even for our most fragile patients? You've got it.
- Use all the advanced techniques in your toolkit: central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds, and more
WHAT YOU NEED
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
- Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation

How do I get a veterinary technician job in Nashville?
Nashville's strongest hiring comes from its dense network of companion animal clinics in Green Hills and Belle Meade, the emergency and specialty hospitals in Brentwood and Cool Springs, and a growing number of corporate-owned multi-site practices. Candidates who hold CVT credentials, have hands-on experience with digital radiography, and can demonstrate anesthesia monitoring skills stand out in this market. Applying directly to larger specialty and emergency clinics gives you access to the highest volume of openings.
Which companies hire veterinary technicians in Nashville?

The local market includes a mix of independently owned practices, corporate-managed clinic groups, and specialty referral hospitals, all of which hire veterinary technicians on a recurring basis.
Are there remote veterinary technician jobs in Nashville?
Yes, though remote work is rare for this role given that most veterinary technician duties require direct patient contact and on-site equipment. About 0% of veterinary technician openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, covering roles such as veterinary telehealth coordination and remote client education support. Those opportunities are most common with larger corporate clinic networks that have built out telehealth programs.
How can I get a veterinary technician job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is starting as a veterinary assistant at one of the city's high-volume general practice clinics in Antioch or Donelson, then moving into a technician role as you build hands-on skills. Corporate-owned clinic groups in the Brentwood and Cool Springs area frequently hire entry-level candidates and provide structured on-the-job training. Completing externships through Tennessee-based veterinary technology programs also helps, as local clinics often convert program graduates into full-time hires.
