INTRODUCTION
The Navy Federal Investment Services (NFIS) support team provides diverse administrative support to Navy Federal Investment Services (NFIS) phone operations, digital chat, Investment Advisors (IAs), and Financial Advisors (FAs). To provide information regarding Navy Federal Investment Services (NFIS) products and services to clients/potential clients, third parties (e.g., merchants, financial institutions, etc.), and employees through various media channels. The Summer Associate will support existing team projects, contribute to process improvements, and learn a high-level understanding of the wealth management support process concerning the financial planning business.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to understand the business process of financial services support.
- Conduct research of reference material to recommend and apply streamlined enhancements.
- Shadow support team members to provide meaningful feedback on process improvements.
- Collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments.
- Assist the Leaders with data collection and analysis projects to improve the current processes.
- Identify and track cross project dependencies and impacts; communicate issues and provide solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding of records and information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or another related degree.
- Basic skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Basic skill interacting with staff, management, members diplomatically & tactfully.
- Project management or coordination experience.
- Resourceful and a critical thinker.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automated systems.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products to create reports, data compilations, and presentations.
