About Owner.com
Owner is the AI growth system for local restaurants. Our AI continuously improves SEO, marketing, and online ordering to grow first-party orders. Unlike other companies that force small business owners to master their software to drive sales, Owner gives them a proven system run by experts. Owner is like having an army of engineers and marketers on your side, just like the big chains.
Our vision
We’re starting by helping independent restaurants succeed online. But it’s not just restaurants that need our help. Most local businesses are struggling with these same problems. Huge technology corporations are taking their customers, bleeding their profits, and making it hard for them to survive. Once we nail the solution for restaurants – we’ll scale it into every other local business type. In the future we envision, tens of millions of local business owners will use our technology to succeed in the digital age.
Our traction
Since 2020, we've generated tens of millions in revenue and processed over half a billion dollars of online orders. 1 in 5 Americans have used an Owner.com website. More importantly, we’ve helped over 20,000 restaurant owners, and saved them nearly $200 million in fees.
Our team
Our team is now in the low hundreds. We’ve got top talent from the most successful companies in SMB software, including: Shopify, HubSpot, DoorDash, ServiceTitan, Rappi, Faire and Stripe. We’ll be scaling even faster in 2026 to keep pace with our customer growth.
Where we work
Owner is a remote-first, global company headquartered in San Francisco, with a sales hub in Toronto. For a few of our roles we prioritize in-person collaboration at one of our office locations. Most of our teammates are distributed throughout the globe. Please review the role description and discuss with your recruiter for more details on location.
Why we’re looking for you
Media has been an unfair advantage for Owner as we’ve scaled to over a billion dollar valuation. Our YouTube and Instagram channels are category leaders. We’ve become the #1 voice in restaurant growth. We have attracted customers, investors, and world-class talent using media. Our channels regularly get over 3 million organic impressions per month, and we’re looking to double down on this momentum by building a dedicated Media team. It will make media an even bigger advantage for attracting customers and talent.
The Short Form Content Manager is one of our early hires for this team. The person in this role will lead strategy and output across Owner.com’s Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, and emerging shorts platforms. This content will help hundreds of thousands of small business owners around the world and also attract more ambitious builders to help with this mission. With our Instagram has grown exponentially from 0 → 80k followers in the last year, short form content has evolved to a core piece to our media strategy. Our short form content will not only live on a standalone set of channels that gains the highest amount of impressions from new audiences, it represents a high volume testing ground for all of our other long form and even paid content. You’ll be the connective tissue between creative inspiration and world class output, helping lead a media engine that drives reach, brand affinity, and a movement that helps business owners around the world as Owner.com becomes a generational company.

Which companies sponsor visas for social media managers in California?
Large technology companies in the Bay Area, including Meta, Google, Apple, and Salesforce, are among the most consistent sponsors for social media manager roles. In Los Angeles, entertainment and media companies such as Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal, and major streaming platforms also sponsor these positions. Consumer brands and marketing agencies headquartered in California similarly file sponsorship petitions, though sponsorship is more common at larger organizations.
Which visa types are most common for social media manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for social media managers in California, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and can be a faster path. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT sometimes use that period to secure employer sponsorship.
Which cities in California have the most social media manager sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles and San Francisco generate the highest volume of social media manager sponsorship opportunities in California. Los Angeles draws demand from entertainment, media, gaming, and influencer-driven consumer brands. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area are driven by technology companies that maintain large marketing and communications teams. San Diego and Sacramento have smaller but active markets, particularly in healthcare, government-adjacent organizations, and regional consumer brands.
How to find social media manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles, and you can filter directly for social media manager positions in California. The platform surfaces employers with a history of filing sponsorship petitions for marketing and communications roles, saving you from applying to companies that don't sponsor. Focusing your search on mid-to-large companies in Los Angeles and the Bay Area will generally yield the strongest results.
Are there any California-specific considerations for social media manager sponsorship?
California's strong labor protections affect how employers structure H-1B positions, particularly around prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor. Social media manager roles in the Bay Area and Los Angeles tend to be benchmarked to higher prevailing wage levels given local market rates. California also has a dense pipeline of international marketing graduates from USC, UCLA, and UC Berkeley, which means sponsored candidates often compete with locally based OPT holders already familiar to these employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored social media manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
