Which companies sponsor visas for cloud engineers in Delaware?
Financial institutions with large technology footprints in Wilmington are the most consistent sponsors, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Capital One. DuPont and other life sciences companies in the Wilmington-Newark area also hire cloud engineers and have histories of H-1B sponsorship. Consulting firms like Deloitte and Accenture, which staff client projects throughout Delaware, round out the major sponsoring employers.
Which visa types are most common for cloud engineer roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud engineers in Delaware, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Indian nationals on OPT or STEM OPT extension are a large portion of applicants. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also qualify for TN status under the computer systems analyst category.
Which cities in Delaware have the most cloud engineer sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the overwhelming majority of cloud engineer sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by its concentration of financial services and corporate headquarters. Newark is a secondary hub, supported by the University of Delaware's computer science pipeline and proximity to the Philadelphia metro technology corridor. Dover, the state capital, has a smaller but growing technology presence tied to state government IT contracts.
How to find cloud engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate lets you filter cloud engineer jobs specifically by visa sponsorship availability and by state, so you can see Delaware-based roles where employers have confirmed they will support H-1B or other work visa petitions. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job postings and company sponsorship histories. Filtering by role and location on Migrate Mate surfaces opportunities at Delaware's financial services, life sciences, and consulting employers.
Are there state-specific considerations for cloud engineers seeking sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's Department of Labor follows federal prevailing wage determinations set by the DOL for H-1B purposes, so there are no state-specific wage floors beyond federal requirements. One practical consideration is Delaware's proximity to Philadelphia and the broader Mid-Atlantic tech corridor, meaning many sponsoring employers may list roles as Delaware-based but expect candidates to work across state lines. Confirming the primary worksite location on the Labor Condition Application matters for compliance.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud engineer jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
