Which companies sponsor visas for electrical project managers in Florida?
Large engineering and construction firms are the most consistent sponsors for electrical project manager roles in Florida. Companies like AECOM, Jacobs Engineering, Turner Construction, Skanska, and Wharton-Smith have sponsored H-1B visa and other work visas for project management positions in the state. Specialty electrical contractors working on utility, healthcare, and industrial projects in the Tampa Bay and Orlando corridors also file sponsorship petitions with some regularity.
Which visa types are most common for electrical project manager roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for electrical project managers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible under the TN visa category. EB-3 and EB-2 immigrant visas are also pursued for longer-term sponsorship pathways.
Which cities in Florida have the most electrical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Orlando and Tampa lead Florida in electrical project manager sponsorship activity, driven by ongoing commercial construction, theme park infrastructure, and healthcare campus expansions. Miami sees demand tied to high-rise development and port infrastructure projects. Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale also post meaningful hiring volumes, particularly for contractors serving industrial and utility clients along Florida's Atlantic and Gulf coasts.
How to find electrical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters electrical project manager roles in Florida by visa sponsorship availability, saving you the time of sorting through postings that won't consider work authorization needs. The platform surfaces roles from contractors, engineering firms, and utilities actively filing sponsorship petitions in the state, making it a practical starting point for candidates targeting Florida's construction and infrastructure sectors.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for electrical project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida's construction boom, fueled by population growth, hurricane resilience upgrades, and data center expansion, has kept demand for electrical project managers consistently high. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must pay prevailing wages as determined by the Department of Labor for the specific Florida metro area where work is performed, meaning wages differ between Miami, Orlando, and smaller markets. Candidates with Florida licensure credentials or experience navigating the state's building code environment are generally more competitive with sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored electrical project manager jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
