Tips for Finding H-1B Sponsorship Jobs in Guam
Verify your occupation qualifies under H-1B
Pull your job title's O*NET profile and confirm it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific specialty. Guam's hospitality and healthcare employers sometimes list roles that blur the line between management and operational work, which can trigger specialty occupation challenges during adjudication.
Search H-1B sponsors using Migrate Mate
Filter by Guam in Migrate Mate to surface employers with verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. This cuts through listings from companies that have never actually sponsored a visa and focuses your search on employers who have completed the LCA process for island-based roles.
Request the LCA before signing an offer
Once an employer commits, ask to see the certified Labor Condition Application before you finalize your offer letter. Guam employers new to H-1B sponsorship sometimes underestimate DOL processing timelines, and a delayed LCA certification can push your start date past the October 1 cap-subject window.
Check prevailing wage levels for Guam specifically
Use the OFLC Wage Search and select Guam as the area of intended employment. Wage levels here differ from mainland metro benchmarks, and your offered salary must meet the posted wage for your specific occupation and experience tier to pass DOL certification.
Build credentials that address Guam's specialty occupation scrutiny
Gather degree equivalency evaluations and employer reference letters before applying to roles in Guam's hotel and healthcare sectors. USCIS frequently issues Requests for Evidence for positions in these industries, so documented proof that your degree directly relates to the offered role strengthens your petition from the start.

Which industries in Guam sponsor the most H-1B visas?
Healthcare and hospital systems, hospitality management, and federal government contractors are the primary H-1B sponsors in Guam. Guam Regional Medical City and large resort operators in the Tumon Bay area account for a significant share of filings, while defense-related contractors supporting military installations on the island also sponsor specialty occupation workers in engineering and IT roles.
Which cities in Guam have the most H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Hagåtña, Guam's capital, and the Tumon Bay resort corridor generate the largest concentration of H-1B filings. Dededo and Tamuning also see sponsorship activity tied to healthcare facilities and government contracting firms. Because Guam is a single island territory, most employers are accessible from any part of the island, but roles in Tumon and Hagåtña tend to be most densely concentrated.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Guam?
Roles that require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. In Guam, this commonly includes registered nurses, physical therapists, civil and structural engineers supporting construction and infrastructure projects, software developers, and hotel general managers with hospitality management degrees. USCIS evaluates each role individually, so the job description and degree alignment both matter.
How do I find H-1B sponsorship jobs in Guam?
Use Migrate Mate to search for employers in Guam with verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history, which confirms they have actually sponsored H-1B workers rather than just expressing willingness to do so. From there, cross-reference open roles with the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the posted wage meets prevailing wage requirements for your occupation and experience level in Guam before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs in Guam?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
