Tips for Finding TN Sponsorship Jobs in Hawaii
Target Honolulu's healthcare network first
The Queen's Health Systems, Hawaii Pacific Health, and Straub Medical Center are among the largest employers in the state. Healthcare roles like physicians, nurses, and medical technologists are among the most consistently TN-eligible positions in Hawaii.
Look beyond tourism into hospitality management
Hawaii's resort sector hires management-level professionals in finance, engineering, and HR who qualify under TN categories. Major hotel groups operating on Oahu and Maui regularly sponsor qualified Canadian and Mexican professionals for corporate and operational roles.
Use a platform built for visa sponsorship searches
Generic job boards don't filter by visa type. Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for TN-eligible roles in Hawaii, so you're not wasting time applying to employers who won't sponsor Canadian or Mexican nationals.
Verify your occupation appears on the TN list before applying
TN sponsorship is restricted to a specific list of professional occupations defined under USMCA. Before applying to any Hawaii role, confirm your exact job title maps to a qualifying TN category to avoid pursuing positions that aren't eligible.
Engage Maui and Hawaii Island employers, not just Honolulu
Engineering firms, environmental scientists, and agricultural scientists find opportunities on neighbor islands that Honolulu-focused searches miss. Resort developments on Maui and Big Island infrastructure projects create demand for TN-eligible professionals outside the capital.
Research employers through federal LCA disclosure data
The Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure database shows which Hawaii employers have filed Labor Condition Applications for TN workers historically. This reveals which companies have sponsored before and are likely to do so again, narrowing your outreach to proven sponsors.

Which industries in Hawaii sponsor the most TN visas?
Healthcare is the dominant TN visa-sponsoring industry in Hawaii, driven by persistent physician and nursing shortages across the state's hospital networks. Engineering firms supporting construction and infrastructure projects also sponsor regularly. Hospitality management, scientific research tied to marine biology and environmental work, and financial services round out the most active sponsoring sectors.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most TN sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu accounts for the large majority of TN sponsorship opportunities in Hawaii, as it concentrates the state's major hospital systems, corporate headquarters, and government contractors. Kahului on Maui has a secondary cluster of healthcare and resort management roles. Hilo on the Big Island offers limited but real opportunities in scientific and engineering fields.
What types of roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Hawaii?
Roles that qualify must match the USMCA TN occupation list. In Hawaii's context, commonly qualifying positions include physicians, registered nurses, civil and mechanical engineers, accountants, scientists such as biologists and chemists, computer systems analysts, and management consultants. The job title in the offer letter must align precisely with a recognized TN category.
How do I find TN sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter by TN visa type and state so you see only Hawaii employers actively open to sponsoring Canadian and Mexican nationals. Supplementing that with direct outreach to Hawaii's major healthcare networks and engineering firms, and searching the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for historical TN sponsors, gives you the most targeted approach.
Are there any Hawaii-specific considerations for TN sponsorship I should know?
Hawaii's geographic isolation means many employers prioritize candidates already located on-island or willing to relocate at their own expense, since hiring processes can be slower than on the mainland. The cost of living is among the highest in the country, which affects how competitive offers are relative to other states. Some smaller employers on neighbor islands may be unfamiliar with the TN process, so being prepared to explain the straightforward nature of TN sponsorship can help move conversations forward.
