Tips for Finding H-1B1 Chile Sponsorship Jobs in Nebraska
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
H-1B1 Chile requires a degree in a directly related specialty field. Use O*NET to confirm your occupation's education requirements before applying, so you can address any degree-to-role mismatch in your application documents.
Target Omaha's healthcare and financial services employers
Nebraska Medical Center, CHI Health, and Omaha's insurance and financial sector employers file H-1B1 Chile LCAs more consistently than smaller regional firms. Prioritize employers with established HR teams who already understand the LCA certification process through DOL.
Search verified Nebraska H-1B1 Chile employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by Nebraska and H-1B1 Chile on Migrate Mate to see which employers have active DOL Labor Condition Application filings. This shows you real sponsorship history rather than relying on job postings that may not reflect actual visa support.
Confirm the employer understands H-1B1 Chile is cap-exempt
Unlike the standard H-1B visa, the H-1B1 Chile has its own annual allocation of 1,400 visas and doesn't enter the lottery. Many Nebraska HR departments conflate the two. Clarify this distinction early so the employer doesn't delay assuming a lottery slot is required.
Check prevailing wage requirements before negotiating your offer
Your employer must certify your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for your role and Nebraska location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your occupation in the Omaha or Lincoln metro area before salary discussions begin.
Prepare your Chilean credentials for USCIS documentation requirements
USCIS requires evidence of your Chilean citizenship and your qualifying degree. Get certified translations of any Spanish-language academic transcripts and have your credential evaluation completed before your employer begins the LCA filing process with DOL.

Which industries in Nebraska sponsor the most H-1B1 Chile visas?
Healthcare, information technology, and agricultural technology account for the majority of H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in Nebraska. Omaha's large hospital networks and health insurance employers file regularly, as do Lincoln-based technology and engineering firms. The state's agribusiness sector also generates specialty occupation roles in life sciences and agricultural engineering that qualify under H-1B1 Chile.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Omaha generates the highest concentration of H-1B1 Chile sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its healthcare systems, financial services companies, and technology employers. Lincoln is the second most active market, with university-affiliated employers, state government contractors, and growing IT firms. Outside these two metros, sponsorship opportunities are limited and tend to be role-specific rather than part of ongoing hiring programs.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Nebraska?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship. In Nebraska, this most commonly includes software engineers, registered nurses with advanced degrees, financial analysts, civil and agricultural engineers, and life sciences researchers. Roles where any general degree satisfies the requirement, regardless of field, typically don't meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies.
How do I find H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by visa type and state, showing Nebraska employers with verified H-1B1 Chile Labor Condition Application history through DOL. This filters out postings from employers who haven't filed before. You can also cross-reference the OFLC Wage Search to confirm prevailing wage levels for your target occupation and metro area before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
