We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer with experience in electro-mechanical and electronics environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing materials, managing inventory and work orders, and developing effective procurement strategies to support operational and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials, components, and services required for production and operations.
- Manage and process sales orders, work orders, and inventory transactions.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies using ERP systems to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize pricing, delivery timelines, and quality.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors.
- Coordinate with internal teams (production, engineering, and logistics) to meet business requirements.
- Track supplier performance and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven buying/purchasing experience in electro-mechanical and/or electronics industry.
- Experience with work order processing and inventory management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (IBM AS400 experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 per week
