Which agriculture companies sponsor visas in New Hampshire?
Stonyfield Farm in Londonderry sponsors H-2A and H-1B visas for specialized roles. Apple Hill Farm in Concord and various dairy operations throughout the Merrimack Valley region also provide sponsorship. Greenhouse operations in the Seacoast area frequently sponsor seasonal workers, while agricultural research facilities connected to the University of New Hampshire offer year-round positions with visa support.
Which visa types are most common for agriculture roles in New Hampshire?
H-2A visas dominate for seasonal farm workers during apple harvest and dairy operations. H-1B visas are used for agricultural engineers, farm managers, and research scientists. TN visas serve Canadian agricultural professionals, while O-1 visas occasionally support distinguished researchers. F-1 OPT students from agricultural programs at UNH often transition to sponsored positions.
How to find agriculture visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international workers with New Hampshire agriculture employers offering visa sponsorship. The platform filters positions by visa type and highlights farms, research facilities, and agribusiness companies with proven sponsorship track records. Focus on dairy operations in the Merrimack Valley and apple orchards in southern New Hampshire for the highest sponsorship rates.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most agriculture sponsorship jobs?
Concord leads with apple orchards and the state agricultural department. Londonderry hosts major organic operations like Stonyfield. Durham benefits from University of New Hampshire agricultural research programs. Manchester's proximity to processing facilities creates support roles, while the Seacoast region around Portsmouth offers greenhouse and specialty crop opportunities with international hiring needs.
What prevailing wage considerations affect agriculture sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire's prevailing wages for agricultural roles reflect regional cost variations, with Seacoast positions typically higher than northern counties. H-2A positions must meet Adverse Effect Wage Rates set annually by the Department of Labor. University research positions in Durham command academic-level wages, while specialized roles like agricultural engineers or organic certification managers exceed standard farm worker rates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored agriculture jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
