Which construction companies in New Hampshire sponsor work visas?
Major New Hampshire construction companies that have sponsored visas include Harvey Construction Company, Milestone Engineering & Construction, and Chinburg Builders. These firms typically sponsor for project managers, estimators, and specialized trades like electrical and HVAC technicians. Many sponsors are concentrated in the Manchester-Nashua metropolitan area where large commercial and residential projects drive demand.
How to find construction visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Use Migrate Mate to browse construction visa sponsorship opportunities specifically in New Hampshire. The platform filters jobs by state and industry, showing which employers have previously sponsored visas for construction roles. Focus your search on the Manchester-Nashua corridor and Portsmouth area where most sponsoring construction companies operate.
What visa types are most common for construction jobs in New Hampshire?
H-1B visas are most common for construction management, engineering, and estimating roles that require bachelor's degrees. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying construction occupations. Some specialized trades may qualify for H-2B temporary worker visas, though these are less common in New Hampshire's construction market.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most construction visa sponsorship opportunities?
Manchester leads with the most construction sponsorship jobs, followed by Nashua and Concord. Portsmouth and Dover also offer opportunities, particularly for marine construction and infrastructure projects. The I-93 corridor between Massachusetts and New Hampshire sees significant construction activity due to population growth and commercial development.
What should I know about construction prevailing wages in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire follows federal Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wages for public construction projects, which often exceed private sector rates. The state's proximity to Boston creates competitive wage pressure, particularly in southern counties. Prevailing wage requirements can make visa sponsorship more attractive to employers on government-funded infrastructure and public building projects.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
