Description

As a Bridge CAD Technician, you will be drafting and designing for civil engineering projects dealing with transportation structures in multiple states. Areas of drafting will include creating structural plans for bridges, retaining walls, overhead sign structures, and box culverts including elevations, sections, profiles, and associated detailing.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and design projects for various structures
- Be enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-disciplined to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
- Prepare plans and layouts generated in Microstation InRoads, Open Roads Designer, and AutoCAD 3D Civil a plus
- Produce accurate output with a keen eye for aesthetics
- Manage project data files from various sources
- Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely
- Manage workspaces and develop plan sets in ORD, including sheet creation and plan set development
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Associates degree or equivalent technical degree
- Knowledge of DOT standards (Utah, Nevada, Washington, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho)
- 5+ years of bridge/transportation CAD experience
- Be familiar with Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer and/or AutoCAD 3D Civil
- Be familiar with ProjectWise
- Manage project data files from various sources
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings; ability to think 3-dimensionally
- Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
- Be a professional, creative, team-focused individual that works well with others in a team environment
- Be enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-disciplined to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
