ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Quality Inspector A, you will work with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing. Your goal is to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents and applicable code(s). Perform in-process and final inspections as determined by Engineering to ensure compliance with all requirements. Maintain records, verify the implementation of the Quality Program and act as a quality representative during internal, customer and regulatory audits.
You will report to the Quality Supervisor and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this position 100% onsite.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform in-coming inspections for all raw materials/components/castings received by confirming specifications through visual and mechanical inspections.
- Ensure that engineers complete in-process inspections per engineering specifications during the production process.
- Formally investigate and validate or reject the inspected parts in compliance with engineering specifications.
- Scraps inspected parts per engineering instructions/documentation and in compliance with applicable procedures.
- Document and update inspection results by creating/completing required reports and logs.
- Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Maintain and verify all calibrated measurement equipment to meet requirements and notify team members on needed repairs.
- Perform non-destructive testing, including ultrasonic, dye penetrant, radiographic, visual, and magnetic particle.
- Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years college or technical school or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- UT or RT as specialties.
- NDE Certification is a bonus.
- Experience using Farrow measuring equipment.
- Capability of certification in any qualification.
- Must have 9 levels of qualification, to include Mechanical Inspection, Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II and Magnetic Particle II and the ability to maintain qualifications by the qualification criteria. If not able to attain and maintain Weld Surveillance, Liquid Penetrant II and Magnetic Particle II, inspector will have the opportunity of achieving a substitute qualification selected by the Company.
- Prior experience with engineering drawings including welding, welding symbols.
- Understand shop drawings, sketches.
COMPENSATION
The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $39.00 to $48.00 per hour.
