Position Summary
The Geospatial Data Technician I performs edits on gas, electric and landbase facility information within Xcel Energy's Enterprise GIS and subsequent software applications; utilizing QA processes to ensure data integrity for advanced downstream applications. Focusing on general data integrity and GIS maintenance work in order to improve data accuracy and reliability. May provide specialized services and mapping products to internal and/or external customers as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Electric and Gas Service and Premise Maintenance - Maintain gas, electric and landbase customer service facility information within Xcel Energy's Enterprise GIS, utilizing Gas and Electric service work order documentation and customer information.
- Map Corrections, Field Stencil and Facility Maintenance - Maintain gas and electric facility information within Xcel Energy's Enterprise GIS. Process gas and electric facility maintenance construction work orders, company number requests, and redline map corrections as received. In addition facilitate the input of electronic gas and electric facility related documentation into the GIS as requested.
- Landbase Maintenance - Perform new land plat/parcel data placement and digitization within the GIS. Maintain current GIS and AutoCAD land base data by performing land base data corrections, field verification coordination, land polygon updates, and parcel data maintenance as needed. Working with internal and external clients in the acquisition of land data.
- As-built Scanning - Work with internal/external clients in support of the electronic filing of asbuilt construction work orders to ensure accurate and easily accessible records via a web interface.
Minimum Requirements
Completion of degree in GIS or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $22.40 to $31.40 per hour.
