Major visa sponsors include Travelers, Liberty Mutual, and Progressive, all with significant Colorado operations. State Farm, USAA, and Anthem also maintain offices in Denver and frequently sponsor H-1B visas for actuarial analysts, software engineers, and data scientists. Regional carriers like Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance and smaller insurtech companies in Boulder also sponsor international talent for specialized roles.
How to find insurance visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for insurance companies in Colorado that sponsor work visas. Target roles like actuarial analyst, software engineer, data scientist, and risk management specialist, as these positions commonly receive visa sponsorship from Colorado-based insurance employers.
Which visa types are most common for insurance roles in Colorado?
H-1B visas dominate for actuarial analysts, data scientists, and software engineers in Colorado's insurance sector. L-1 visas are common for international insurance companies transferring employees to their Denver operations. O-1 visas occasionally appear for senior actuaries or insurance executives with extraordinary expertise. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in actuarial and risk management positions.
Which cities in Colorado have the most insurance sponsorship jobs?
Denver leads with the highest concentration, hosting regional headquarters for major carriers in the downtown financial district and Tech Center. Colorado's prevailing wages for insurance roles vary by position and location, with Denver commanding higher rates than smaller cities. Actuarial analysts typically require Level II wages, while senior data scientists and software engineers often need Level III or IV. The Colorado Department of Labor maintains specific wage determinations for insurance occupations that employers must meet for visa sponsorship approval.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored insurance jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
