Which electronics companies in Colorado sponsor work visas?
Major sponsors include Lockheed Martin and Ball Aerospace for defense electronics, Broadcom and Xilinx in Fort Collins for semiconductors, and Woodward Inc. for aerospace components. Many of these companies regularly file H-1B visa petitions for electrical engineers, firmware developers, and hardware design specialists, particularly those with experience in aerospace applications or semiconductor design.
What visa types are most common for electronics jobs in Colorado?
H-1B visas dominate for electrical engineers, embedded systems developers, and RF engineers. O-1 visas are used for senior chip architects and defense electronics specialists with unique expertise. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican engineers, while E-3 visas provide a direct path for Australian electrical engineers without lottery competition.
How to find electronics visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Use Migrate Mate to browse electronics positions specifically filtered for Colorado employers with visa sponsorship history. Focus on the Denver-Boulder metropolitan area and Fort Collins, where most electronics companies are concentrated. Target aerospace defense contractors and semiconductor firms, as these industries have established sponsorship programs and ongoing federal contract requirements.
Which Colorado cities have the most electronics visa sponsorship opportunities?
Denver leads with aerospace giants like Lockheed Martin and Ball Corporation, followed by Boulder for tech hardware startups and research facilities. Fort Collins hosts semiconductor companies including Broadcom operations, while Colorado Springs offers defense electronics roles with companies like Northrop Grumman. The Front Range corridor concentrates most opportunities.
Do Colorado electronics jobs require security clearance for visa holders?
Many aerospace and defense electronics positions require U.S. citizenship for security clearance, limiting visa holder eligibility. However, commercial electronics, semiconductor design, and non-classified aerospace components offer viable paths. Companies like Woodward Inc. and some Lockheed Martin divisions have non-classified projects suitable for visa-sponsored engineers with appropriate technical backgrounds.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored electronics jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
