Job Summary
Join our team for an exciting 12-month contract opportunity as a Construction Site Quality Control (QC) Manager in Williams, California. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong electrical background to oversee and manage all quality assurance and quality control activities for a major renewable energy project encompassing solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and a new substation. This role is crucial for ensuring the project is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Salary: $70 - 90 per hour
Work Hours: 8am to 4pm
Education: No Degree Required
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) and site-specific Quality Control Plan.
- Manage all quality inspections and testing activities across solar array installation, BESS integration, and substation construction.
- Ensure all electrical installations and components strictly adhere to project specifications, relevant codes (NEC), and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the QC team, including hiring, training, and supervision of QC inspectors and personnel.
- Review and approve contractor Quality Control Plans and documentation (ITPs, test reports, and material submittals).
- Coordinate with the project management team, engineering, and third-party inspectors to resolve non-conformance issues promptly.
- Manage the Request for Information (RFI) and Submittal processes related to quality control.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports to project stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and complete quality documentation (red-line drawings, test records, final dossiers) is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular quality audits and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Quality Control management for construction projects.
- A strong, demonstrable electrical background is required, with experience in high-voltage, solar PV, or BESS projects preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including NEC and IEEE.
- Proven track record of managing QC programs on large-scale utility or industrial construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, AWS CWI, NACE) are a plus.
