DESCRIPTION
The Amazon Ads Creative Experiences Design team is responsible for how advertisers create, manage, and optimize their campaigns across Amazon's advertising ecosystem. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative problem solver to join as a Sr. UX Designer who will work with a team of talented product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver best-in-class advertiser experiences. We need a highly motivated, creative, and passionate UX Designer to drive customer-focused advertising solutions that empower businesses of all sizes to reach their goals.
As a Sr. UX Designer on the Advertiser Experiences team, you should be comfortable prototyping and communicating design ideas at varying levels of fidelity. You have a solid understanding of how applications are built and use that knowledge to design solutions that are both desirable and feasible. You approach your craft with an AI-native mindset, actively integrating AI tools and capabilities into your research, ideation, and delivery process to move faster and raise the quality of your output. The ideal candidate will be able to visualize an experience in the abstract, break down complex use cases, and drive the vision into solid design deliverables.
You think first from the advertiser's perspective, use research and data to influence your designs, set relentlessly high standards for yourself, and deliver best-in-class experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and embrace the idea that failure is a critical part of innovation. You balance your passion for inspired, compelling, elegant yet simple designs with a highly analytical nature, precise execution, and a relentless drive to design, build, and deliver.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end UX design for one or more advertiser experience product areas, from concept through launch
- Translate complex advertising workflows and ambiguous problem spaces into clear, intuitive, and visually compelling designs
- Leverage business requirements, usability findings, and market research to develop scenarios, use cases, and requirements
- Adopt emerging AI capabilities into your design workflow to increase speed and quality of output
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that communicate design intent
- Drive design decisions through user research, data analysis, usability testing, and industry best practices
- Build cross-functional relationships to promote collaboration and efficiency
- Contribute to and evolve the Advertiser Experiences design system for platform consistency
- Present design work and rationale to senior leadership, advocating for the advertiser experience
- Proactively manage your work queue, timelines, and expectations; communicate tradeoffs when needed

Which companies sponsor visas for user experience designers in New York?
Large financial institutions, media companies, and technology firms in New York have established track records of sponsoring visas for user experience designers. Employers like IBM, Citigroup, Bloomberg, Spotify, and major consulting firms such as Accenture and Deloitte Digital regularly file H-1B visa petitions for UX roles. Startups in the fintech and healthtech sectors also sponsor, though less consistently than enterprise-scale employers.
Which visa types are most common for user experience designer roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for user experience designers in New York, as UX design qualifies as a specialty occupation when the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as interaction design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline. The O-1A is an alternative for designers with demonstrated extraordinary ability. Australians may also be eligible for the E-3 visa.
Which cities in New York have the most user experience designer sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the large majority of user experience designer sponsorship jobs in New York, driven by finance, media, and enterprise technology employers concentrated in Midtown and Lower Manhattan. Brooklyn has a secondary concentration, particularly in DUMBO and the Brooklyn Navy Yard tech corridor. Buffalo and Albany have smaller but emerging UX markets tied to healthcare systems and state government technology initiatives.
How to find user experience designer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international job seekers and filters user experience designer roles in New York by visa sponsorship availability, saving you the work of identifying which employers are open to sponsoring. Because UX design spans finance, media, healthcare, and technology in New York, Migrate Mate's role-specific filtering helps you focus on employers who have actively sponsored similar positions rather than applying broadly.
Are there any state-specific considerations for user experience designers seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York City's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules tend to reflect the city's high cost of living, meaning H-1B petitions for UX roles must meet elevated wage thresholds compared to other states. New York is also home to strong university pipelines through programs at NYU, Pratt Institute, and the School of Visual Arts, which means competition for entry-level sponsored roles can be significant among OPT-eligible graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored user experience designer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
