GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for managing the organization’s IT enterprise resilience programs, encompassing business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and the operational resilience programs. Drives the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of Fifth Third's business continuance and recovery preparedness programs and plans.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage broad range of stakeholders in delivering on a variety of initiatives aligned to strategic resilience-oriented roadmaps.
- Ensure Bank follows all internal and external regulatory requirements pertaining to operational resilience within the financial industry.
- Develop and maintain policy, framework, lifecycle and standard documentation of internal requirements and controls needed to provide enterprise resilience.
- Align resilience program(s) to address operational risks, including those pertaining to emerging technologies and third-party service providers.
- Consult in development of enhanced business resilience and resumption methodologies.
- Collaborate with internal risk teams, committees, Audit, and regulatory agencies in providing governance and responses to exams, audits, assessments and/or reviews.
- Facilitate program governance related activities including KRI and KPI metrics.
- Consult on Third Party contracts and assessments.
- Coach and consult stakeholders in developing/maturing operational resilience capabilities.
- Maintain professional relationships within Bancorp, peers, and external agencies.
- Monitor adherence to tolerances set for operational resilience, taking appropriate action to remediate issues, and report on any significant departure from tolerances.
- Continue to develop and enhance industry and technical resilience related expertise.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide effective leadership to the team through prioritization based on visions/goals, shared decision making within understood boundaries, and fostering entrepreneurial spirit in the team. Provides effective management of employees through timely, candid and constructive feedback. Develops employees to their fullest potential and provides challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth using the career ladder framework. Recruits and develops appropriate talent pool to insure adequate bench strength and succession planning. Recognizes and rewards employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree a plus.
- 10+ years’ experience working in operational resilience, business continuity or risk role(s). Experience working within financial industry a plus.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and financial services regulatory trends.
- Advanced knowledge of risk, compliance, and audit competencies.
- Experience in designing/embedding a risk-based resilience program and framework a plus.
- Certification as a Business Continuity Professional. Industry certifications such as, but not limited to: CBCP, MBCI, FBCI and/or CGEIT a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Ability to communicate ideas to management, business and IT resources in language that is appropriate for each group.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills of programs, processes, projects, and people.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in most Windows Office based technologies and software programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, etc.
- Limited overnight business travel may be required from time to time.
- Lifting and physical requirements of 25 pounds (e.g., moving tables, chairs, equipment, and carrying materials, supplies, boxes, etc.).
- Physical ability to operate training equipment (e.g., pc, projectors, easels, etc.).
