POSITION OF Generation Technician (Civil) - 1 position
HEADQUARTERS West Side Hydro
RATE $25.89 (progressive)
HOURS Day, Swing, Night
The West Side Hydro Project is a hydroelectric generation facility located near Estacada, Oregon. Typical duties include the maintenance of roads, trails, and rights-of-way for the hydroelectric plant. This maintenance will include but is not limited to snow removal, brush removal, grass cutting, weed eating and boat work in the plant’s reservoirs. Other duties may include working in operating powerhouses assisting during plant maintenance outages.
DUTIES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Perform various inspections, repair, construction and maintenance of project equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Perform work in support of the repair and maintenance of project roads.
- Perform routine inspections and data gathering on project equipment, including but not limited to:
- Weekly Flowline walk.
- Periodic weir and piezometer readings.
- Rake head racks in support of Hydro operations.
- Operation of forklift, manlift, and scissor lift.
- Perform housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning project facilities.
- Perform brushing, chainsaw, and other “manual hand work” as needed to support operations, maintenance, and to meet FERC requirements.
- Perform administrative duties such as use of computer-based maintenance programs, data collection, report writing, utilization of relevant computer programs.
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance as qualified.
- Participate in individual and group goal setting and achievement by initiating and adapting to change.
- Participate in self-directed work teams. Provide and receive feedback on team and individual performance.
- Engage in PGE Core Practices: Customer Focus, Ensure Accountability, Collaborate, Nimble Learning, Instill Trust, Value Differences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required)
- Pass preplacement medical examination, drug test, and physical fitness examination.
- Possess and maintain valid driver’s license and demonstrated good driving habits, and operate forklifts as required.
- Regularly pass a criminal and identity background check in compliance with FERC, NERC, WECC, and CIP regulations.
- Must pass the POSS Aptitude Tests.
This bid has a time based pay rate progression, based on a percentage of Tech 1 wage:
Example:
Tech 1 (2025) $51.77
Level 1: First 6 months 50% $25.89
Level 2: Second 6 months 60% $31.06
Level 3: Third 6 months 65% $33.65
Level 4: After 2 years 70% $36.24
Level 5: After 5 years 80% $41.42
