Description
Make no mistake, this is a software engineering role first. You will spend your days writing code and building tooling, not managing spreadsheets. You will build AI tooling that optimizes AWS spend across our development and product estate, one of the largest ISV footprints on AWS. The work goes well beyond detecting and reporting cost. You will build tooling that plugs directly into the software development lifecycle to protect against cost overruns before they happen, and AI-driven automation that can auto-resolve cost issues without waiting on a human to notice.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
- Design and build AI tooling and agents that monitor, forecast, and auto-resolve cloud cost issues across AWS accounts, with a focus on AI and GPU inference spend.
- Integrate cost guardrails directly into the SDLC and CI/CD pipelines so that cost overruns are caught at commit, build, and deploy time rather than on a monthly bill.
- Build the detection-to-remediation loop: anomaly detection, root-cause attribution, and automated actions such as budget enforcement, right-sizing, and policy checks.
- Instrument workloads at the account and API level, model token and inference economics, and turn findings into org-wide best practices and reusable tooling.
- Extend cost attribution and reporting so spend maps cleanly to teams and business outcomes, and surface it in executive dashboards.
- Partner hands-on with engineering teams across hundreds of organizations, meeting them in their own codebases and pipelines, to embed cost tooling that accelerates their delivery timelines forward instead of slowing them down.
- Collaborate with Infor's internal FinOps team to translate cost strategy into working software, and with platform teams on centralized controls such as Service Control Policies, budget gateways, and account guardrails.
- Act as the technical project lead for your workstream: shape the roadmap, break down the work, drive it through others, and keep stakeholders and executive team aligned without needing to be told what to do next.
- Fully autonomous. You set your own direction from business context. You do not wait for work to be assigned.
- Data driven. You ground decisions in evidence and measurement. If it cannot be measured, you build the measurement first.
- Ownership. You treat the outcome as yours end to end, from the idea through to the dollars saved in production.
- Say-do. You say it, you hit it. Commitments are commitments, and your word is your bond.
- Leads through others. You set the example, raise the bar for the engineers around you, and multiply your impact across teams rather than keeping it to yourself.
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems and internal tooling or platforms.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern language used for tooling and automation, such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Deep, hands-on AWS experience, including cost and billing services (Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Report, Budgets), IAM, Lambda, and tagging strategy.
- Proven experience building automation and data pipelines, and integrating tooling into CI/CD and the SDLC.
- Working knowledge of cloud cost and unit economics (showback, chargeback, cost attribution) is a plus, but this role builds the tooling; a dedicated FinOps team owns the financial reporting.
- Practical experience integrating or building with LLMs or AI agents, and a clear understanding of token and inference cost drivers.
- Strong technical project management instincts: you can scope, sequence, and drive cross-team work to completion, and communicate clearly with both engineers and executives.
- Ability to work from an Infor Hub in Dallas, TX or Atlanta, GA, with a daily overlap of 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enterprise software architecture experience.
- Hands-on experience optimizing AI and GPU inference cost, including model-tier selection, prompt and caching strategy, and budget enforcement for autonomous or headless workloads.
- Experience with agentic frameworks and running multi-agent pipelines through human review gates.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Service Control Policies, and centralized budget or gateway enforcement at scale.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and container platforms (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
- Experience operating in a large multi-account, multi-team enterprise AWS environment.

AI Architect Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a ai architect job in Atlanta?
The strongest path into an ai architect role in Atlanta is through the city's large financial services and healthcare IT sectors, which consistently hire for AI-focused roles at their Midtown and Buckhead offices. Candidates who combine hands-on experience with cloud platforms and a portfolio of production ML or LLM deployments stand out. Networking through Atlanta's active tech meetup scene and connecting directly with hiring managers at fintech and health-tech firms gives a real edge over remote applicants.
Which companies hire ai architects in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring ai architects in Atlanta include EY, Capgemini, and Booz Allen Hamilton, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's hiring mix skews toward large enterprises in financial services, healthcare, and professional services, alongside a growing cluster of AI-focused scale-ups in the Midtown and Old Fourth Ward neighborhoods.
Are there remote ai architect jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, ai architect work is relatively remote-friendly given that most deliverables involve architecture diagrams, model design, and code rather than on-site hardware. About 65% of ai architect openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader tech hiring norms in the city. The fully remote roles tend to concentrate in cloud-native and SaaS-oriented companies, while large Atlanta-based enterprises in finance and healthcare more often require hybrid attendance at their Midtown or Perimeter Center offices.
How can I get a ai architect job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through a mid-level machine learning engineer or data engineer role at one of the city's large healthcare or financial services firms, then transitioning into architecture work once you have production system experience. Atlanta employers like large hospital systems and regional banks frequently hire junior AI engineers who grow into architect tracks internally. Building a public portfolio of end-to-end AI projects and earning a cloud certification from AWS or Google strengthens your profile for Atlanta's enterprise-heavy market.
Which industries hire the most ai architects in Atlanta?
The sectors hiring the most ai architects in Atlanta are Technology & Software, Insurance, and Distribution & Wholesale, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's role as a regional hub for financial technology, healthcare systems, and Fortune 500 corporate headquarters drives concentrated demand for AI architects who can design and govern large-scale AI deployments within regulated industries.
