AI Architect Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai architect in Indiana?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an ai architect in Indiana, so the path runs through education and credentials. Most Indiana employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field, and a master's degree is increasingly common for senior roles. Vendor certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud carry real weight in Indiana's financial services and healthcare IT markets and often substitute for additional academic credentials.
How much do AI architects make in Indiana?
AI architects in Indiana earn a median of about $93,540 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $28,180 for the lowest 10% to over $138,260 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ai architects in Indiana?
Employers hiring ai architects in Indiana right now include Allied Solutions, WTW, and Cook, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indiana's concentration of large insurance carriers, pharmaceutical companies, and enterprise software firms means demand is distributed across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Indiana cities have the most ai architect jobs?
Carmel, Indiana, and Elkhart have the most ai architect openings in Indiana. Indianapolis dominates because it is home to the state's largest corporate headquarters, including major insurers, health systems, and technology firms, while Fort Wayne and Bloomington attract openings through regional manufacturing operations and the university-connected tech community around Indiana University.
Are there remote ai architect jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of ai architect openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally the role fits distributed work. The parts of the role most often done fully remote are architecture design, stakeholder presentations, and code review, while on-site presence is more common during initial platform deployments or when working directly with embedded data teams.
How can I get hired as a ai architect in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a data engineer, machine learning engineer, or cloud infrastructure role into an ai architect position as Indiana employers often promote from within those adjacent functions. Large Indiana health systems and insurance carriers regularly bring on associate data engineers or junior ML engineers as a pipeline into architecture work. Building a portfolio of end-to-end AI projects and earning a cloud AI certification from AWS or Microsoft strengthens a candidacy considerably before applying directly to those entry-level architecture roles.
Where can I find and apply to ai architect jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to ai architect jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and preferences, and apply directly through each listing without any additional steps required.
