AI Consultant Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai consultant in Tennessee?
Tennessee does not require a state-issued license specifically for ai consultants, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical skill. Most roles require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or engineering, with a master's degree increasingly preferred for senior consulting positions. Earning vendor-recognized credentials such as AWS Certified Machine Learning or Google Professional ML Engineer strengthens candidacy with Tennessee employers. Building a project portfolio and targeting firms in Nashville's healthcare tech corridor or Knoxville's research-driven ecosystem accelerates hiring prospects.
How much do AI consultants make in Tennessee?
AI consultants in Tennessee earn a median of about $100,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,200 for the lowest 10% to over $156,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ai consultants in Tennessee?
Employers hiring ai consultants in Tennessee right now include HCA Healthcare, Amazon, and Schneider Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare systems, logistics companies, and federally funded research institutions makes it a consistent source of AI consulting demand across both enterprise and government-adjacent sectors.
Which Tennessee cities have the most ai consultant jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Brentwood have the most ai consultant openings in Tennessee. Nashville dominates due to its dense cluster of healthcare IT companies, corporate headquarters, and professional services firms, while Memphis draws demand from logistics and supply chain technology employers, and Knoxville benefits from proximity to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee's research programs.
Are there remote ai consultant jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. AI consulting is heavily analytical and deliverable-focused, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 21% of ai consultant openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly this work translates across digital environments. Strategy, model evaluation, and stakeholder advisory work are the functions most likely to be fully remote.
How can I get hired as a ai consultant in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a junior data analyst or business intelligence analyst role at a mid-size Tennessee firm and building toward AI project work from there. HCA Healthcare and Tennessee Valley Authority both run structured technology development programs that place early-career candidates on AI and analytics teams. Completing a recognized machine learning certification and contributing to open-source or capstone projects gives a portfolio that compensates for limited work history when applying to Nashville-area tech consultancies or Knoxville research organizations.
Where can I find and apply to ai consultant jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to ai consultant jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings updated in real time. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and target location, and apply directly through each listing without any intermediary steps.
