Entry Level AI Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level ai job?
Entry level ai employers look for hands-on evidence of skill: personal projects, Kaggle competitions, open-source contributions, or a capstone from a bootcamp or degree program. Familiarity with Python, machine learning frameworks, and basic data handling gives candidates a clear edge at this stage. Tailoring your resume to each job description and applying consistently to roles that explicitly welcome junior applicants will move you forward faster than waiting for the perfect posting.
Which companies hire entry level ais?
Companies hiring entry level ais right now include WilmerHale, JPMorganChase, and Photon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including fast-growing startups building AI products for the first time and established technology and enterprise firms expanding their AI teams with junior talent.
Are there remote entry level ai jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are available at the entry level, though on-site roles still make up a share of the market. About 11% of entry level ai openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates who need location flexibility have real options to pursue without limiting themselves to local employers only.
Are these new grad ai jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior ai roles alongside other entry level openings. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or academic project work in place of full-time history, or explicitly states that a strong portfolio can substitute for a conventional resume. Filtering for those signals helps new grad applicants find the most accessible roles quickly.
Which industries hire the most entry level ais?
Entry level ai roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Law & Legal Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they are actively building or scaling AI capabilities and need junior contributors who can support model development, data preparation, and applied research alongside more experienced team members.
