Entry Level Android Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level android engineer job?
Build a portfolio of Android projects on GitHub, including at least one published or near-complete app, and get comfortable with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android Studio. Employers at this level care more about what you have shipped or built independently than where you worked before. Internship experience, capstone projects, or self-taught apps all signal readiness for a junior role.
Which companies hire entry level android engineers?
Companies hiring entry level android engineers right now include Google, Adidev Technologies, and Wealthfront, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including consumer app companies, fintech startups, enterprise software firms, and large retailers building mobile-first customer experiences.
Are there remote entry level android engineer jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles still make up a significant share of openings at this experience level. About 16% of entry level android engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates open to relocation or commuting will see a broader set of opportunities than those limiting their search to fully remote positions.
Are these new grad android engineer jobs?
Yes, entry level android engineer listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects in place of full-time work history, or explicitly invites candidates who demonstrate ability through a portfolio rather than a long resume. Look for those signals in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level android engineers?
Entry Level android engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive junior hiring because they are actively expanding mobile teams and often have structured onboarding programs or mentorship tracks designed to bring new grads up to speed quickly.
