Health Fitness Instructor
About the Role
As a Health Fitness Instructor, you are a dedicated wellness professional committed to promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors that extend beyond exercise alone. Through assessment, education, and motivation, you play a key role in helping individuals improve overall well-being, prevent injury, and support recovery and disease management.
You stay current with evolving fitness methodologies, nutrition guidance, and wellness trends, recognizing that proactive health management is essential to long-term outcomes. Your expertise, compassion, and ability to connect with others enable you to make a meaningful impact on the populations you serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fitness programs, classes, and activities that meet diverse member needs
- Conduct wellness and fitness assessments, providing individualized exercise prescriptions and instruction on proper techniques
- Deliver educational sessions, workshops, and lectures on a variety of health and wellness topics
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies (AIP, PDCA) to enhance program effectiveness and member outcomes
- Demonstrate clinical competence in working with adult populations, including older adults and geriatric individuals
- Support responsible resource management, including cost containment and proper use of equipment and supplies
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health, Wellness, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and wellness setting
Preferred Attributes:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and engage individuals across varying fitness levels
- Knowledge of current fitness, wellness, and health education practices
- Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and commitment to quality care
